For over a decade, Maisha worked as a project manager, community volunteer, and public space developer, partnering with renowned landscape architects, community groups, commissions, organizations, and individuals. Her experience highlights her skill in engaging in and with diverse communities and liaising with city agencies to execute meaningful

projects. Here are some notable instances of her work.

Atlantic Street Walkway Trail

A walking path was installed at the intersection of S. Atlantic Street and 23rd Avenue South to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists, and people with disabilities. The ADA accessible, concrete walkway will create a stronger pedestrian connection between Sam Smith Park, Jimi Hendrix Park, the Northwest African American Museum, the residential community near the 23rd Avenue corridor, and to the future Judkins Park Light Rail Transit station.

Jimi Hendrix Bus Shelter Mural

In November 2014, the Friends of Jimi Hendrix Park and the Jimi Hendrix Park Foundation partnered with King County Metro to design and install a Jimi Hendrix retrospective bus shelter mural at the intersection of 23rd Ave., S. and S. Massachusetts Street. Artwork by Steven Pesant.
